Stat Sheet Template
HAPPY 2010 KIDS
I have thought for a while it would be helpful to have stat sheets on characters that were more uniform for the sake of ability comparison. A place you can go and see "Well this character is punching me and APPARENTLY SHE'S REALLY STRONG but I'm more dexterous so it's probably fair to dodge this" sort of situation.
Also I think stat sheets are super fun )=
So here's what I came up with, if others want to give it a go.
Here is how it works:
Possible answers for each category go S, A, B, C, D, and F. Add plus or minus for nuances as you like.
C would be low average human, like if you give your character a C in Strength that means probably as strong as your average computer geek. Where as B would be someone athletic, A is Olympian and S is above human capacity but STILL NOT RIDICULOUS due to bracers. Going downwards, D would suggest below average strength, equal to that of a young teen probably, and F would probably be unusually frail or even crippled.
KEEP IN MIND that the bracers DON'T EFFECT your defense stat. So that is the one stat that can go into SSS levels if it applies to your character.
ALSO I find it helps to do all my characters at once, so I can say "Does Vash really have that much more HP than Ticky? But is he really that much stronger..."
Hit Points: Hit points are a generic RPG representation of how much damage your character can take until they lose consciousness. They GENERALLY go up with higher Defense or higher Stamina, but your character's unique mythology may make them someone who can take a lot of damage if their Defense isn't that great.
Magic Points: Magic points are your catch all for 'how long can they do their etheral/spiritual/magical/whateveral ability until they can't anymore'. Since materia exists in Sabra, everyone pretty much default has some magic capacity (unless they have an ic reason for why they DON'T, in which case I guess materia wouldn't work for them =|a)
Strength: Ability to hit hard, move heavy objects.
Defense: Ability to absorb damage. Basically, if someone just walked up to your character and punched them smack in the kisser, how well could they handle that?
Magic: If applicable, how strong their magic abilities are. This could be 'setting someone on fire' to 'casting cure'.
Magic Defense: Ability to reject the influence of someone else magicking them, whether by training or natural mental barriers.
Intelligence: Pure number crunching, fact observance, and ability to Learn New Things.
Wisdom: Ability to make good informed choices, understand people and situations.
Will: Also known as stubbornness. May translate into 'likeliness to continue past all common sense' for shounen characters, but is more 'ability to resist influence/follow their own intentions' for less crazy people.
Dexterity: Ability to react quickly, whether dodging or blocking, often also includes general hand-eye coordination for skills like aiming and throwing.
Speed: Pure running motion. SPEED with which a character can dodge/react still goes under Dex.
Stamina: How long they go without getting tired
Health: General ability to cope with illness/recover from injury
